I thoroughly enjoyed the numerous homages to other games, even those from different genres. One of the merchant's face sprites is strikingly reminiscent of a character portrait from SF Alpha 3 The game also features characters that evoke the spirit of Metal Gear , and there are several callbacks to Metal Slug , such as a boss that bears a strong resemblance to the Alan encounters in the series' early installments. These Easter eggs add a layer of charm and familiarity that fans of classic games will appreciate.
